TERMS & POLICIES

  • SwissCAS⁺ is a Swiss Certificate of Advanced Studies programme within the Swiss system of advanced higher education (Hochschulweiterbildung), designed to support professional competence development and practical application in the workplace.
  • SwissCAS⁺ is not a national academic degree in the traditional sense. It is not positioned as an academic degree and is not intended to replace traditional academic programmes.
  • Participation in SwissCAS⁺ constitutes confirmation that the learner has read, understood, and accepted all terms, policies, and disclaimers officially published by the programme provider.
  • Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI) reserves the right to adjust, update, or amend programme content, academic regulations, and administrative policies in order to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, quality standards, and professional developments, subject to appropriate notification to learners.
  • SwissCAS⁺ is delivered under the Live Class Direct learning model. Learners study directly with the programme provider, without franchised delivery, delegated training, or intermediary academic providers.
  • Learners are assessed through assignments, examinations, applied projects, or competency assessments in accordance with the competency framework applicable to each programme.
  • Each learner submission is subject to internal evaluation procedures and, where applicable, External Quality Assurance (EQA) conducted by independent assessment bodies, depending on the requirements of the respective programme.
  • Learners who successfully fulfil all academic requirements and meet the assessment criteria will be awarded the SwissCAS⁺ certificate together with an official transcript.

SwissCAS⁺ credits may be accumulated and used for progression to higher-level programmes within the same system, including SwissMAS (Master of Advanced Studies), in accordance with the internal regulations of Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI).

Credit transfer is not considered an automatic entitlement and is subject to an academic evaluation process, which may include the following criteria:

  • The content and volume of learning completed
  • The learning outcomes achieved and the assignments submitted
  • The level of compatibility with the structure and learning outcomes of the subsequent programme

The maximum period for requesting credit transfer from SwissCAS⁺ to SwissMAS is two (2) years from the date of completion of the SwissCAS⁺ programme.

Learners are required to submit a complete academic portfolio, including certificates, transcripts, and all relevant assignments and assessments completed, for the purpose of academic evaluation and credit mapping.

Credits may only be recognised once for each completed module and cannot be accumulated mechanically across multiple programmes.

  • The transfer of tuition fees from SwissCAS⁺ applies only to learners who continue their studies in programmes directly delivered by Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI). It does not apply to programmes outside the SIMI system.
  • Learners may receive a deduction of a substantial portion of the tuition fees already paid for SwissCAS⁺ when progressing to SwissMAS. The maximum deduction may reach up to 82%, depending on the volume of recognised credits and the applicable regulations at the time of transfer.
  • Tuition transfer is processed concurrently with the credit transfer evaluation and is subject to academic assessment.
  • Tuition fees paid for SwissCAS⁺ are non-refundable in cash and may only be applied as a tuition deduction toward the subsequent programme.
  • Each completed module or SwissCAS⁺ programme may be used for tuition transfer only once in order to ensure transparency and fairness in financial management.
  • SwissCAS⁺ does not automatically confer academic recognition, the right to progress to academic degree programmes, or the right to use academic titles under the regulations of any country.
  • The recognition and use of SwissCAS⁺ depend on the policies, regulations, and independent decisions of individual employers, organisations, professional bodies, or competent authorities.
  • SwissCAS⁺ does not fall within the scope of evaluation, comparability, or recognition by Swiss ENIC. This reflects the structural distinction within the Swiss education system between academic higher education and professionally oriented continuing education.
  • Swiss Information and Management Institute (SIMI) does not guarantee or commit that SwissCAS⁺ will be recognised, accepted, or used for any specific purpose beyond its scope as a programme for advanced professional competence development.
  • SIMI shall not be responsible for any decisions regarding the recognition, interpretation, or use of the qualification made by third parties, including but not limited to employers, professional organisations, regulatory authorities, or other educational institutions.
  • Information relating to study pathways, credit transfer, tuition transfer, or alignment with national competency frameworks is provided for transparency and reference purposes only and does not constitute a legally binding commitment beyond official written documents.
  • To the extent permitted by applicable law, SIMI shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use, interpretation, or expectations placed upon SwissCAS⁺ beyond its defined scope.
